Koen is an expert in the fields of Digital Identities and Personal Data Management. He is working at InnoValor Advies, a MyData founding member, and an active member within in the MyData community. He has been leader of the Operator thematic group for over 3 years and member of the review team for the MyData Awards. This year he is curating the Identity Track at the MyData conference.

Koen’s expertise lies in topics such as MyData Operators, the European Digital Identity (EUDI), personal data wallets and self sovereign identity (SSI). At InnoValor he helps governments and public organisations to better understand digital innovations, such as wallets, and the impact of it. Koen has a background in cyber security but also has a great interest in ethics and the impact of technology on individuals.

He has run projects such as an analysis of the Dutch PDM landscape, a innovation project on the use of wallets in the social sector, eIDAS peer reviews for the recognition of national eIDs and research regarding the EU Digital Identity (EUDI). He regularly gives presentations and workshops on the topics such as MyData Operators, digital identities, the EUDI, and personal data management. Currently he is involved with setting up the Dutch ecosystem for the European Digital Identity.
