Brecht Wyns helps organizations use data responsibly — unlocking opportunities for businesses and governments while respecting personal data rights.
He holds a Master’s degree in Business Engineering from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management and has been active in data governance since 2012. He began his career as a consultant at PwC, working with clients in the financial sector and supporting European Commission initiatives such as SEMIC. He later joined Colruyt Group, a diversified organization active in FMCG, energy, and healthcare, where he set up the company’s Center of Excellence for Data Management.
Driven by a passion for personal data empowerment, Brecht moved to Inrupt to work with Sir Tim Berners-Lee on bringing enterprise-grade Solid technology to market. Today, at Athumi, he continues this mission in a technology-agnostic setting, promoting responsible data use, individual control, and value creation.
