The GliaNet Alliance, a coalition of some 24 for-profit technology companies, is creating the governance elements for a new sector of trustworthy intermediaries we call Net Fiduciaries. Our key premise is that creating genuine trust opens up new opportunities for people to willingly share their personal data, which in turn creates new market opportunities. When combined with truly personal AI agents, and other human-centric data applications, the Net Fiduciaries governance layer carries the potential to upend the current surveillance-based, extractive, and manipulative commercial paradigm of the Web.
