Tapir is a platform for “people data collaboration” it is build on the principles of our “decentralized data trust” model (see https://medium.com/rocketstar-foundation/decentralized-data-trusts-a-trust-minimized-and-sustainable-approach-to-data-collaboration-140d7074dab6). Key foundations are: - privacy - fairness - agency It is data provider/owner centric and it addresses many design failures that prevent other data space projects from gaining large scale adoption. We want to show how decentralisation/web3 can benefit data economies and data spaces by - allowing privacy-preserving access and avoiding “data alienation” - reducing required trust assumptions - allowing for co-ownership of data products (incl. AIs) based on contributions - allowing for decentralized governance of data product owners The model could be adapted by other data spaces and organisations could participate in the co-creation od people data products. TermLog: Building a Terminology Database Through Community-Owned Language Data” At the core of ethical AI lies inclusive, representative data. This presentation introduces TermLog, a pioneering platform focused on empowering communities, especially speakers of underrepresented languages to collaboratively develop, manage, and own their linguistic data. TermLog bridges the gap between digital technology and linguistic diversity by enabling the structured creation (neologism) and sharing of multilingual terminology across various domains, from healthcare to technology and education. Attendees will benefit by exploring how TermLog aligns with MyData principles of data sovereignty, empowerment, and transparency. The presentation will demonstrate how TermLog provides a model for community-first data governance, enhance local language data infrastructure for AI and digital services, encourages interdisciplinary collaboration among linguists, technologists, and civil society, support equitable participation in global digital ecosystems. The session will also highlight real-world use cases from African language projects and showcase how TermLog fosters inclusive innovation. Participants will leave with actionable insights on how to adopt, partner with, or replicate this model to support ethical data practices and localisation efforts globally.

In 2022 Post-Platforms Foundation (postplatforms.org) presented the concept of a Web 3.0 Data Space (W3DS) at MyData. Today, we return with MetaState (https://metastate.foundation/), a fully operational system you can join immediately after our session. Funded by private sponsors committed to rebalancing the relationship between citizens and state bureaucracies, MetaState delivers on all six themes of the MyData conference: Power: In partnership with the City of Amsterdam, we’re launching a Web 3.0 Data Space for urban commons. Citizens gain a real Digital Self (eName, ePassport, eVault), alongside tools for secure voting, document signing, governance, and decentralized communication – all supported by trust-building eReputation mechanisms. AI: The system uses AI to help participants form new Commons based on shared goals and wish lists. Democracy: MetaState ensures inclusion, trust, and transparency. Verified identities and cryptographic reputations make disinformation structurally impossible within Commons governance. Climate Crisis: In collaboration with Dutch farmers, the Ministry of Agriculture, TNO.nl, and WUR, we are expanding W3DS in agriculture to produce cryptographically reliable CO₂ footprints – down to each cow and tractor. Geopolitics: MetaState empowers citizens in exile (e.g. from autocratic regimes) to organize, vote, and express collective goals without fear of repression. Economy: By offering secure, user-controlled identity and data exchange, MetaState enables thousands of platforms to interoperate, support small initiatives, and weaken digital monopolies. Imagine a world where end-users control their digital interfaces, data and logic. What if we could all build apps as easily as we build spreadsheets using Excel? What if we could email these apps to our friends and then our friends could easily modify these apps as they were using them – just like we do with spreadsheets? End-users have little say in how they interact with their own data because the interface dictates and limits their capability – the problem. Our goal is to empower individuals to customise their digital experiences in real time, manage their personal data, and even build and share their own collaborative networked mini-apps with ease. My presentation will explore this user-centric paradigm by introducing our highly customisable, no-code, bidirectional interface builder, Kendraio App. Which integrates with third-party services via APIs. I will showcase real-world use cases of our tool, including collaborations in nuclear disarmament policy negotiation (conflict resolution), digital media rights management, news subscriptions, and personal eco-friendly shopping mall. All sharing a need for privacy and control over personal data and functionality. As a non-revenue-seeking research organisation, Kendraio operates without the constraints of commercial interests. This freedom allows us to explore bold, ethically driven innovation in personal data and user agency. Attendees of the MyData Conference will gain insight into a novel implementation of an emerging technological philosophy for local-first data sovereignty. They will see how collaborative app-building can serve diverse personal and societal needs, and discover a powerful new approach to user-centric computing.

Restoring Digital Power: A Humanc-Centric Data Economy Built on Permission, Trust, and Value Who controls your data? In most cases, it’s not you — even though it’s your health, your purchases, your daily life. This talk shares a real solution that helps shift that power back to people. As the CEO of SNPLab and a board member of MyData Global, I will introduce my:D, a mobile app that gives people real control over their personal data. It works directly on your phone, so your data stays with you — not in the cloud or with a company. You decide who gets access permission, when, and for what purpose. Instead of just asking for permission once, my:D helps people manage access over time, combining different types of data (like health and finance) on their own device. This creates meaningful insights — but the person stays in control. The presentation will explain how this approach helps both people and businesses. People can protect their privacy and even earn rewards for sharing data. Companies can get clear, trustworthy data — but only when users allow it. We’ll also share how this system is already working in real life, what we’ve learned, and what it could mean for the future of fair and ethical data use. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how power over data can shift back to the people — and why it’s not only possible, but already happening.
